After looking at some fanart of Merlin, I decided to watch it via Youtube. I already finished the first episode, and am currently on the second one.
I have to say, it is pretty entertaining, even if it takes several liberties on the Arthurian legend, like having black people serve in the court (in the words of the creators, "it's a fantasy. If there are dragons, then why not black people?" Smooth move right there, no sarcasm intended). Unfortunately, the first episode had some facepalming moments which I shall not name, but funny moments and moments of "d'awwwwww" kinda makes up for them. Oh, and the two main characters? They. are. CUTE.
Seriously, just look at them.
For Halloween, the Fire Emblem club on dA decided to host another contest. The theme is "class change," where we choose a FE character and give them a class change. I decided to draw the mage Soren and class-change him into a prince.
As you can tell, I decided to give him fancy armor. FE armor are usually somewhat generic, and feeling inspired by one of Aubrey Beardsley's illustrations for Le Morte d'Arthur, I drew whatever the hell I wanted on the armor, disregarding functionality completely. His pose is partially borrowed from Gustav Klimt's fabulousMada Primavesi. The final picture might have a dragon in the back along with other fancy, Art Noveau-ish crap.
